旅行日 uto 打包好了，前往机场。快速加满油 - 或者说不那么快。油箱盖的开启器，根据车辆品牌可能相当难找……Zoe悠然自得，耳朵里塞着iPod，脚放在仪表板上，身处梦乡，完全不知道妈妈并不是在找复活节彩蛋，而是在寻找那个开口的带子……啊，耳边已响起那首搞笑的德语歌，关于开口带的，旋律在我脑海中不断回放……Elena，要保持专注，你可以做到。这要是做不到就太尴尬了 – 不过放弃不是个选项。在这场战斗中，经过漫长的挣扎，我最终胜出。但赢得一场战斗并不等于赢得战争。美国的油泵上有太多的信息，以至于托尔斯泰的2000页史诗《战争与和平》根本不值一提。汗水在我的额头上缓缓凝结，不知是因为热，还是潮热的更年期，或者是时间压力和挑战 – 我不知道，我只想快点摆脱这个情况！于是我做了女性在这种情况下所做的事情：问附近的陌生人寻求帮助。这个方法自古以来就行之有效。有满油箱后，热情的夏威夷绅士挥手叫道：感谢 & 再见（Mahalo & Aloha）。太棒了，回到车里，Zoe问我为什么这么久……我忍住不说话！在机场把车子还了，完成登记后，50分钟的飞行我们就抵达了“台大岛”。新车，新品牌，新挑战 – 我已经能感觉到了 ut Zoe 一切如旧：耳朵里插着iPod，脚放在仪表板上，悠然自得……

短途开车后我们到了旅馆。位于绿色中间，坡道陡峭到我考虑请求一个卷扬机来升到那里！但毕竟我们是从山里来的 – 如果美国人能做到，我们也能做到。这确实成功了，开上陡坡一直是我的强项 这似乎是一所私人房子，里面有几个多余的房间出租。第一印象并不令人印象深刻。所有一切看起来都很随意，松弛，还带着一点潮湿。但主人太有魅力了，以至于我们最终还是喜欢上了这里。我们在海边结束了这个晚上的时光，喝着葡萄酒，吃着比萨。准备迎接一个新岛和新的冒险。

旅行日 ar packed and off to the airport. Quick stop to fuel the car – which turned out to be not so quick. The tank cap opener, depending on the car brand, can be tricky to be found……Zoe blissfully relaxed with iPods in the ears, feet on the dashboard, somewhere in dreamland, not realizing that mum is not Easter egg hunting, but searching for that opening strap/tongue/flap.. there is a rather funny German song about an opening strap which came to my mind and the catchy tune was in my ear……Elena stay focused, you can do that. It would be rather embarrassing if I couldn’t do it – but giving up is not an option. After an eternity I came out of this battle as a winner. But a battle won is not a war won. The American fuel pumps hold so much information that the 2000 page epic “war and peace” from Tolstoi is nothing compared to it. Beads of sweat formed on my forehead not sure if it was the heat, the menopause, the time pressure or the challenge – I don’t know, I just wanted to get out of this quickly. So I did what females do in such situations. They ask the next best person for help. Works since centuries. You bet. With a full tank the friendly Hawaiian gentleman waves and shouts: Mahalo & Aloha (thanks and goodbye). Fabulous, back in the car Zoe asked me what took me so long…… I am restraining myself! Dropped off the car at the airport, check-in and after 50 minutes flight we landed in “Big Island”. New car, new brand, new challenges – I can feel it already ut Zoe is the same old: iPod in the ears, feet on the dashboard, blissfully relaxed……After a brief drive we arrived at the Guesthouse. In the middle of green with a so steep driveway that I was contemplating to request a winch to get up there! But we are from the mountains after all – if the Americans can do it, we can. It did work out all right – driving in the steep was always my strength  It seems to be a private house with a few spare rooms they rent out. The first impression was not impressive. Everything seems to be a bit self-made, relaxed, damp. But the house lord was so charming that we decided we do like it somehow after all. We ended the evening with a glass of wine and a Pizza. Ready for a new island with new ventures.
