17th December

Here is something different every day :) Thursday evening we went to another basketball game by John. Friday evening we went to a Christmas party here in the community (I don't know what it's called). So from the families who live around here (about 70 people). I found the party beautiful and all the children who were there were also happy because they rode on Mellis, Nicole's and my shoulders all evening. And what I noticed at the basketball games is that almost everyone here wears a baseball cap, cowboy boots, jeans, and camo clothes. I think that's really cool. Some even came to the Christmas party with rubber boots. And here only country music is played on the radio :) nothing else ;)

Since we ran out of firewood, we cut down a few trees today. On the way there, we were allowed to ride in the tractor bucket (that was fun). This morning it was only -16°. It feels like summer. You can be outside for a long time without your face freezing, and even take off your gloves ;) It's supposed to get even warmer in the next few days. Other than that, in the last few days we prepared the sheep stable and sorted the sheep and let them into other pastures. My job was to chase the sheep into the alleyway with King (the little 4-month-old dog) where Laurie sorted them. But King still has a lot to learn. He would prefer to chase sheep all the time and even bite them. That wasn't easy. Then in the last few days I also milked Sassy (the cow). Well, a little bit, because I'm pretty slow. And today I got to drive hay to the field with the tractor :)
