Hello everyone,
our route takes us down the E6 until we reach Bjerkvik and then turn west. Now we are on the E10 heading towards the Lofoten Islands.
We are constantly amazed at how quickly the landscape changes up here in Norway! Just a moment ago, we were driving along a rugged coastal road, 10 km later we were in a densely forested mountain region, and another 10 km later we were driving through a steppe-like vegetation.
I have never experienced such extreme changes in landscapes in any other country before, and each of these landscapes has its own unique charm, so we've never thought: what does it look like here. In our opinion, Norway, at least the parts we have seen so far, is the most beautiful of the Scandinavian countries.
We are taking a very extended lunch break this time at the Polar Park. It's a zoo that showcases all the animals native to this northern region. It is set up similar to the Bear Park in the Black Forest in our country. However, there is no guarantee that you can see all the animals! If they are further back in their enclosures, you are just out of luck.
During our visit, we were lucky enough to come during the feeding times of the wolves.
In addition, a lynx mistook our dog Lotte for a T-Bone steak. It crept up on her from the top of the forest and attacked her when Lotte started running towards her mother at the fence. It was very interesting to observe that a lynx still sees Lotte as prey.
The bears were also very friendly towards us, so we were able to get a good look at them. Unfortunately, the enclosures are designed in a way that you are constantly looking through a fence, and the fence is always in the photos. But still, it is a very well-made facility.
After that, we hit the road again for another 1.5 hours. During this time, we cover an astonishing 80 km. Once again, the NKC app shows us that there is a parking space for €5 near us, and, as expected, it is located at a harbor.
After arriving and finishing everything, it's time for dinner. We still have delicious-looking T-Bone steaks that will make their way onto the grill today and provide us with a satisfying meal.
The day is slowly coming to an end, and as has been the case in the last few weeks, it remains bright all night long. Our day-night rhythm is so disrupted that after dinner, we look at the clock and are shocked to realize it's 11:00 PM and Lotte is still wide awake.
What else, oh yes
See you tomorrow...........
