Part 11 Japan 🇯🇵 Mishima / Fuji Part 2

Mishima and surroundings - Fuji, Fuji, Fuji

As predicted, beautiful warm weather on our last full day, perfect for our plan to really enjoy Mount Fuji.

It took us almost an hour in total (walking, train, bus) to arrive at the Mishima Skywalk.

The Skywalk, at 400 meters long, is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Japan. Thanks to the great weather, we had a fantastic view.

After thoroughly enjoying the bridge, we continued by bus to Lake Ashi.

There we took a 70-minute tour on a pirate ship. That was quite nice. We had a good view of Mount Fuji at first; sometimes a cold wind blew around our faces, but most of the time it was pleasant.

We then took the bus for 50 minutes to Mishima Station and walked around a bit. But there wasn't much going on anywhere. We then went to Rakujuen Park and saw what was probably the saddest mini-zoo we've ever had to endure. Just a bunch of tiny enclosures for monkeys, alpacas, pigs, wallabies, and so on. Well, Japan isn't all sunshine and roses.

Mount Fuji was also becoming less clearly visible. The snow-covered peak was increasingly blending into the graying sky.

Since it was our last proper evening, we decided to eat at the same restaurant as yesterday, as the sushi there had been so delicious. Beforehand, we went back to the beach, ostensibly to watch the sunset over Mount Fuji again, but it had become quite cloudy. We sat there for a while anyway, checked in online for tomorrow, and then enjoyed one last taste of Japanese sushi.
