This next ride lasted actually 18 hours (overnight). The destination was Guayaquil, a major port city in southern Ecuador, from which you can sail to the Galapagos Islands. At the border crossing, we were warned to be prepared for a lot: of course passport control, as well as vaccination record check and proof of return, information about occupation etc. In the end, nobody cared about it. Stamp it in and off we went. In Guayaquil, we only had one afternoon, but we found and visited the most attractive corner there. We were only warned not to look too far, as there are many thieves (ladrones) there. So far, however, we have managed not to be involuntarily separated from our belongings.
Early in the morning the next day to the airport, because now it was time to go to Galapagos!!
