Off to the jungle

Hello hello,

today our day started at 7:00 in the morning. We had a delicious breakfast first, just like yesterday, and then we packed up our remaining things because today we were moving to a new accommodation.

At 9:00, we met up with our travel group and headed to the north of Bali, specifically Kubutambahan.

After about 1 1/2 hours drive, we reached a Bali community training lunch program supported by G Adventures (our organization for our Bali trip). This program enables people with disabilities to receive vocational training in the hospitality industry and helps them lead an independent life and find fulfilling work. We got to enjoy a traditional Balinese lunch buffet there and got to know the people and their work better. We learned about their daily routine and played instruments with them.

After that, we drove for about another 2 hours and stopped at a beautiful viewpoint halfway through the journey.

Then we went to our new accommodation, bulian homestay, a place in the middle of the jungle. We were dropped off by our bus driver on the road and picked up by a tuktuk bus to take us to the accommodation which was 10 minutes away. The road was not accessible for the big bus.

When we arrived, the entire staff was already waiting for us. We were greeted with a coconut drink and a cold towel for refreshment. After a few minutes, we received our room keys. Half an hour later, we met with the host of the accommodation and were dressed in typical Balinese attire. Then we made our own offerings and went to the temple to go through a ceremony. The Balinese pray every day and offer offerings.

In the evening, we all had dinner together as the travel group in the accommodation. We had a typical Balinese meal. Afterward, we got to watch a Balinese dance show and even participate in it. Mareike, I, and a few other members of the travel group stayed in the restaurant of the accommodation for a while and played UNO and talked.

Now we're back in bed, completely tired and exhausted from the day.
We have an exciting excursion planned for tomorrow, so we're going to bed early tonight.
