After the camper tour, we had a room in Northbridge in a small B&B for 5 days, run by an older gay couple in a small old house. The accommodation was great, the hosts very helpful and we felt absolutely comfortable. From the room, we had a lovely view of the city with its skyscrapers, which was a 15-minute walk away.
We really liked Perth, it is quite manageable for a city of a million people, mostly very clean and well-maintained. We always felt safe. The combination of old buildings and modern city planning can be seen in many places and is very successful. We particularly liked the beautifully landscaped Kings Park, which offers a nice view of the Perth skyline. The West Australia Art Gallery was also very impressive.
And of course, there is a gay scene in Perth as well, although it is quite modest for such a large city with a huge surrounding area. We visited the very pleasant The Courthotel for a drag queen competition (as spectators only) and the club night of Bears Perth. We met very nice people everywhere.
