because you can't do everything on the first visit, we had to go back to Amsterdam in 2016. But it's so relaxing when you know your way around a bit.
We have great weather again and we're going back to where we liked it so much - the markets - Dappermarkt and Albert Cuyp-Markt. For creative people, it's a paradise, there are countless stalls and shops with fabrics, buttons, ribbons, trims... a (night)mare.....
A treasure trove of ingredients, buttons, ribbons, lace, decorative elastics etc. can be found at Stoffen en Furnituren.
The floating flower market was disappointing for me, I imagined it differently. Metal containers.... well, but great selection of plants and flowers.
A great store is further out, on the outskirts of Amsterdam, just before the water, where you can buy everything you need to sew your own lingerie. Genius, there are already pre-packaged sets - the finished model is on display, so you can choose from a variety of patterns. We can now even sew retro shorts for our boys.
the luxury department store 'de Bijenkorf' with its elephant exhibition was very interesting - a project for endangered elephants....
A visit to the Beguinage is also very nice - only women lived and still live here. The houses are so beautiful and cute....
you can take the crossing with the NSDM ferry to the new artist district... doesn't cost anything extra....
If you like to cook Asian food, you can find everything you need in the multi-storey China department store. There are some delicious Asian restaurants around the department store....
