The day started with 23 degrees and fog, and it was relatively uneventful. At first, the drive was still on the relatively narrow and poor road through the coastal mountains. Soon, the road became wider, better built, up to a four-lane highway where you could speed up to cover kilometers. The landscape changed, the mountains slowly turned into hills, and what was predominantly influenced by forests yesterday, now became cultivated land, including rice fields where storks found plenty of food. Today, I covered a distance of approximately 320 km before checking into a very nice and affordable hotel in a suburb of Samsun.
My back has improved, I hope it stays that way. Tomorrow, I will cover the penultimate stage in Turkey, probably in the rain.
