G’Day Mate!
After a 28-hour flight, little food, little sleep, and a long conversation through movies, we arrived in Australia at Sydney Airport. We were taken directly to the hostel by a shuttle. The most exciting thing in the first 10 minutes in Australia? Everyone drives on the left side of the road. The first problem followed immediately: how do you switch gears with your left hand when you can't even brush your teeth with your left hand? The first night in the hostel went well and a non-European breakfast followed. A small box with a 100 gram bag of cereal, orange juice, a muffin, and a sandwich croissant. Now let's get to the beautiful things on this day. SYDNEY. At first, what we saw today looked like China Town in any city. We didn't realize we were in Sydney until later. We walked down a street with many Asian shops. The further we went, the larger the buildings became. From Chinatown to the CBD. Magnificent old buildings with Corinthian columns accompanied us along the way. We crossed parks with large old trees and palm trees, in the middle stood a huge fountain with a bronze figure. Now we could finally see our destination. The Opera House. Why did I want to go there so badly? I watched too much Dance Academy in my childhood. But with the long way, time passed and we arrived just in time for the sunset at the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Impressive! On the way back to our hostel, it was already dark. Now you could see the bright side of Australia. Thousands of lights were shining from all sides. Occasionally you could hear the laughing bird chirping from the palm trees.
