Sabai Dii Ton Läng,
my dear 3 days in Vientiane are behind me and as a farewell, I'm sitting on my balcony enjoying a delicious Lao Beer and relaxing a bit before continuing my journey. And what can I say, Laos has a really nice capital and it's smooth here compared to other Asian capitals like Bangkok.
Well then, yesterday on the 2nd day, I decided to take a trip to the surroundings of Vientiane, again with a motorbike, and covered no less than 200 km. It was amazing, the beautiful landscape that passed by me.
Unfortunately, I didn't discover several destinations that I had in mind. But it was still a nice trip.
Today, I set myself a few highlights of the Laotian capital as targets, namely Buddha Park / Xieng Khouan and That Luang. I had already planned to visit Buddha Park, but I was quite skeptical when I arrived because it is located quite far away from the city (about 25 km) and I was afraid of a very high Tuk Tuk price. However, I happened to pass by the central bus station and saw that there was a bus going directly there for only 60 cents, so I didn't hesitate and went there. The park itself is nicely laid out, but you don't need more than an hour to visit. So, directly back to the city afterwards and on foot (3-4 km) towards That Luang, which you should definitely visit if you are in Vientiane.
Well, let's see what's next. What I know for sure is that I have to get up early, so I'm enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of Vientiane and enjoying my well-deserved Lao Beer...
Goodbye Vientiane
