夜里很冷，现在也是，我大约在8点半出发。我设置的闹钟是6点半，但在我整理好一切之前，我还是在8点半才出发去Omarama。没关系，因为云层还低低垂垂，加上夜晚的寒气，空气中还有些朦胧。

今天的旅程让我感到是穿越了霍比特人的土地，经过中土世界。这里的丘陵柔和，呈棕色到暗灰色，生长较低，部分地方看起来就像月球表面。林迪斯谷一片孤寂，我在某些路段上甚至没有遇到其他汽车。我有一种身处异星球的感觉，这里的景观如此抽象。气温11度，真不算夏天。再加上有一阵刺骨的寒风，每次停下来拍照都感觉很“清爽”。

于是，我沿着这条乡村公路向南行驶，首先瞄准的是阿罗镇，这个小镇靠近皇后镇。在基督城送我去机场的出租车司机推荐了这个地方。

在距离Omarama约70公里的Tarras，我在加油站喝了一杯咖啡，这里也是个小镇。汽油（无铅，91号）到处都差不多卖2.20美元，所以这里30升汽油要超过60美元（大约40欧元）。

我继续开车，沿着达斯坦湖朝克伦威尔驶去。接着沿着卡瓦劳河走，这条河把达斯坦湖同位于皇后镇的瓦卡蒂普湖连接起来。在右侧可以淘金。想想也不错，我决定停下来。这里是一个旧金矿遗址，作为博物馆对外开放。但我对此并不感兴趣。我从远处拍下废弃金矿城镇和旁边峡谷里河流的照片。

在短暂的继续行驶后，我看到一个跳伞的机会(卡瓦劳大桥蹦极)，人们可以免费观看。也许是为了吸引人，但我只是过来拍照。从桥上跃入峡谷的高度为43米，收费130美元，最佳情况下可以持续20秒。有些人真的用手碰水。下面等着的是一只充气船，负责解开跳伞者的绳索并接走他们。我不会敢这么做。现在阳光正好，很美丽。

那么接下来呢？蒂阿瑙，正朝着菲ordland国家公园的方向，还有170公里，途中还有金斯顿和莫斯本，我或许可以在那儿找个住处。于是我出发了。前往金斯顿的路途一直沿着瓦卡蒂普湖延伸，湖像一条长虫蜿蜒至南边。在金斯顿我就没有什么兴趣，继续前行。

风景美丽，山丘、羊群、孤独。所以我决定穿过莫斯本，真的前往蒂阿瑙。我隐约听说星期日的天气会不好，而今夜趋于傍晚时分，云层正在变得明朗，阳光也洒下美丽的摄影光线。

大约在晚上6点半，我到了蒂阿瑙。第一家酒店住满了，我额头已经开始冒汗。这儿再也停不下来了。但这个地方看起来非常生气勃勃。小，但是旅游人数很多。希望他们没有订满所有的房间。
