Week 8 Murighiol - Lovets on Lake Tichasee

From Murighiol we ride south with a great tailwind to Constanta in two days. Here we have reached the end point of Eurovelo 6!

This bike path has excited us overall. From the Atlantic to Hungary, mostly close to rivers, on bike paths, and well signposted. After that, the signposts were scarce or nonexistent. We mostly rode on small country roads, but also on the highway. For this, we had the most beautiful experiences from Serbia, friendly hosts, and helpful people everywhere who sometimes warned us about the wrong path or bad roads.

The area around Constanta is densely built and yet new apartment skyscrapers are being built everywhere. Since it is August, the beaches are quite popular and do not really attract us. Therefore, we decide to ride back to the peaceful countryside in Bulgaria. We ride through Dobric to Madara and visit the horseman, which was carved into the rock wall in its original size in the 8th century. You climb up many steps to the plateau, where remains of a fortress can be seen.
