Evening in Puno

已发表: 13.02.2024

When I arrived at the port in Puno, I wanted to go to the hotel where I would leave later and drop off my suitcase, but unfortunately the parade was going on right then and it was similar to the Rose Monday procession. The entire streets are closed and oh yes: I had my large rolling suitcase with me in the crowd. So without a suitcase I would have relaxed and watched the parade. I wanted to go past the outer streets, but the train just went along the entire main street. So I stood on the sidelines and still watched the parade and I have to say: They can dance here in Peru. And I actually find it much more pleasant when the procession here only consists of cool costumes and musicians. Of course there will still be a train with camels for the children, but it's much more relaxed this way. And otherwise the carnival is comparable to ours: music, alcohol and a good mood everywhere. The city is out of control. Then I ordered Queso Frito for 7 soles (approx. €1.80), assuming I was getting something with cheese. And I have that too. A bowl with 5-6 baked potatoes, onions, tomatoes, an omelet and 4 balls that tasted like cheese. In general, everything was tasty and the good thing was that I was able to sit down at a table and watch the parade. After half an hour I moved on and dared to cross the parade at the next intersection, which was really not easy because stands had been set up and I had my large suitcase with me. Then I went to the hotel and I was already expecting that you wouldn't be able to hand over your suitcase for free based on the Google comments and that they were generally very unfriendly, but that wasn't my impression. At the reception she showed me the room, which was locked. Then I was able to charge my cell phone and then I went out. Unfortunately it started to rain and not just a little, but a lot. I wanted to have a coffee, but to do that I had to cross the main square, but there was another foam spray party there, where I became a victim again. I took shelter for a moment and then found a coffee shop around the corner. There was lightning and thunder, but the coffee was really nice. I ordered a cappuccino and 2 cheese toasties. There is internet here and I can spend the time here until I go back to the hotel and then take the bus. I just hope that the rain will let up soon, but luckily I have a rain poncho in my backpack.
