Hardangervidda scenic route

Stage 78: Vang - Hardangervidda (scenic route between Eidfjord and Haugastoel): A varied, long day: in sunshine we continue after the morning bath in the Vangsmjose towards our goal of driving to the Sognefjellsvegen pass again. After it starts raining and visibility is no more than 20 meters, we abandon this plan and drive south through the Laerdal Tunnel, the longest tunnel in the world. Right after exiting the tunnel, we go up to the Stegasteinen viewing platform, from where you have a wonderful view of the Naeroyfjord, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We spend the night along the Hardangervidda, which is considered one of the most beautiful scenic routes in Norway. So many superlatives!
