Medellin 🇨🇴

已发表: 28.03.2019

Medellin!

From the Amazon region we go to the city.

The first day we explored the Poblado neighborhood, which is probably the most famous and well-known among backpackers. No one knows why, if you ever go there, spend your time elsewhere. But what makes my heart happy is that it is El Clásico in Colombia, which means Athletico Nacional plays against Independiente Medellin. So: organizing tickets is on the agenda, fortunately not a big problem. Full of anticipation for this, certainly a highlight of the trip for me, I get sick. And I get the wonderful experience of getting an injection against stomach and intestinal problems directly into the muscle of my butt, you can hardly imagine such pain. Given that I was surrounded by people and in a doctor's practice, I didn't scream. Until the day of the game, there were still 48 hours left and I had hope that I could see it, which was the case for at least 60 minutes. Amazing experience and not normal what's going on there, you should better see it live or take a look on YouTube. It's indescribable anyway.

Slowly it got better and two days later I was able to walk a little more again, we simply moved around with the metro, but also with the cable cars that are used here for public transport to the mountains. They are exactly like the ones you know from skiing holidays. Interesting story and quite practical.

Furthermore, we continue with Esteban on a walking tour through Comuna 13, which is probably the most infamous part of Medellin. A total of 22 neighborhoods belong to this district and about 20 years ago it was virtually impossible to come out of here unscathed, even for Colombians!

Because at that time Medellin was the most dangerous city in the world, even before the Gaza Strip.

Again, there are many graffiti of incredibly good quality here, and in general, the neighborhood is now very likeable and beautiful, not least because of its escalators up the hill. Especially for young people, there are many offers here to pass the time, such as hip hop, dance, graffiti, etc.

We spend another day driving to Arvi, on the other side of the mountain, to get a little insight into the jungle of Medellin. Here you can quickly realize how easy it is for people to disappear and go into hiding. Problem for us: it's freezing cold and we're only wearing short clothes, so we turn around, enjoy the view from the cable car once again, and drive to Plaza Botero to get to the hostel from there, through downtown.

Medellin is a great city, interesting and, above all, young people live here. It also gives a very safe impression and I believe everyone can have a good time here. It was nice, thank you! 😊

By the way, we are now going to San Andres Island, take a look at the map where it is. 😂😎
