On Thursday we explored the hotel complex and spent a quiet day there. We also put our heads together to plan activities during our stay in Dubai. I have to admit that I'm pretty jet lagged. For Elisa, on the other hand, this doesn't apply, but my throat/nose can suddenly remember that I actually snore 😁...
The hotel is located directly on the beach. So we have access to the Persian Gulf. Very nice! The water is also around 28 degrees Celsius 😅. We went in anyway. After all, you have to take everything with you and if you have the opportunity to go swimming in the Persian Gulf, then you just have to take advantage of it. The breakfast at the hotel is very good - as is the service in general. We are very happy about that. The selection at the buffet is very diverse and really tasty. The same applies to dinner. There's finally bread and rolls to eat again 😃👍🏻.
In the evening we went for a walk on the palm tree. In the afternoon these days in Dubai, temperatures reach around 30 degrees Celsius. It's pretty hot in the sun. However, this is no comparison to summer - with well over 40 degrees Celsius 😅. However, all buildings and cars are air-conditioned and therefore very cool. This should always be taken into account depending on the destination.
We are a bit surprised and somehow not at all how freely people stroll around the city. Ultimately, it is a country with slightly different values and rules for living together. However, tourism also brings a lot of money into the coffers.
Friday after breakfast we took an Uber to Miracle Garden. We now have experience with parks full of flowers and plants 😅. In that respect, the visit was quite amusing, but it didn't blow us away. I still found the Airbus A380 surrounded by flowers to be very successful.
From there we took an Uber again to the Dubai Hill Mall: a shopping mall. Elisa was of course excited and would have liked to buy everything empty, but that's just not possible 😃. I had the best Caesar salad ever there. Very tasty 👍🏻.
We then spontaneously decided to take a look at the Dubai Frame. If you're nearby, you should take advantage of it. It's only about 25 km from the mall 😅. Dubai is very long around the Gulf. The sights are far away. So you have to take a taxi or an Uber for excursion destinations. As a rule, the car is a Lexus with a leather interior and the driver sits there dressed very formally. Boxes with towels for women are also available everywhere. Everything seems very professional 😁.
The Dubai Frame is a large, walk-in picture frame. You can see the city from above. After waiting about 50 minutes, we were finally able to take the elevator up. Coincidentally, this was exactly the right time: the sunset was happening. However, the visibility wasn't as great as hoped. It was cloudy and in my opinion the building is quite built up and stuck together, so the view is somewhat limited and you have to fight for space. Since the city is so stretched out, many buildings are barely or not at all visible. Unfortunately, the Burj Khalifa is one of them. In addition, the frame has a lot of lighting effects on the inside: bad for images and the overall view. Aaaab! There is a glass floor. Anyway. Of course that's always cool 😁👍🏻.
We were then driven back to the hotel, where we immediately sat down for dinner, which was again extremely good. Top 😁.
Good night 😴
