狂野又美丽

We made it! From the northernmost point of New Zealand (remember Cape Reinga) we have now officially traveled to the southernmost point (at least almost - the truly southernmost point is unfortunately not accessible by campervan).

After obligatory visit to Bluff, we continued to the wild Catlins, where we found not only amazing landscapes, but also some rare animals that you don't normally get this close to.

In Curio Bay we encountered a yellow-eyed penguin in the evening. By the way, even in the photo you can see that the 'beach' here is actually a fossilized forest floor, thanks to the light of the setting sun!

At Waipapa Point we observed a family of sea lions on the beach.

On our journey we passed by the Niagara Falls. No, that's not a mistake - the New Zealand Niagara Falls are officially one of the smallest waterfalls in the world.

At the end of the beautiful Catlins, the next big city awaited us - Dunedin. Dunedin is, to put it simply, confusing and unsympathetic, but the city offers an outstandingly beautiful train station and a chocolate factory.

Moreover, from here it is only a stone's throw away to the Royal Albatross Colony, which we of course did not miss.
