Day 8, from Hotel Don Miguel to Hotel Don Miguel

DAY 8, Saturday, February 11, 2023,

It was clear beforehand that today would be a very exhausting day. Therefore, we had a longer and more extensive breakfast to replenish the energy reserves of our battered bodies.

We left a bit later than usual, around 10:30 AM, swapped bikes for feet again today, heading south down the road to the famous dunes, dunas de Maspalomas. Then we walked through the dunes and found a beautiful beach. Snow-white sand, wide beach, with sun loungers and umbrellas. A beach bar that provided everything the heart and stomach desire: beer, wine, gin and tonic, champagne, vodka, and even water. Coffee? Not available! Coffee is overrated anyway. Instead, the beach bar had two big outdoor speakers that turned the entire beach into a party zone. Really awesome!

The only notable thing about the beach section: at the four corners of the beach section, there was a flag in rainbow colors, and in between - except for Andrea - 100% only men, all completely naked‼️

We spent a beautiful day at the beach, reading, soaking up the sun, and taking a dip in the Atlantic. Then we walked back, so after almost 8 km with over 40 meters of elevation (yes, yes, the dunes were tough) and almost 2 hours, we finished our daily stage at the well-known hotel, oh, and we spent 4 hours at the beach 😌

And for those who still wonder what puddelrüh means, let me tell you in Cologne dialect: completely naked‼️
