Etappe 4: Spittal/Drau - Villach

We found this section, well, a bit monotonous. Although there were some beautiful sections along the river, the long stretches parallel to the highway with the accompanying noise level or wedged between the river and the train were not so exciting. After two days with mixed weather, it was supposed to be really nice again, but it turned out to be a disappointment. We now had this cloudy autumn weather for three consecutive days, which was pleasant in terms of temperature at least.

So we were looking forward to Villach and just in time for our arrival, the rain started again. Since it was also quite chilly, the swimming project in Lake Ossiach was quickly thrown overboard. Instead, we now focused on the city center of Villach, where a street artist festival was held - just for us. The performances varied in quality and entertainment value, but the menu of Café 'Rainer' was exceptionally pleasing with at least 40 types of cakes.

We spent the evening in a local Greek restaurant, enjoying ourselves in the local style. So we were eagerly looking forward to the next stage, because tomorrow - we were promised - tomorrow the weather will be summery again.
