Day 3 on 21.11.2017
On the third day of our La Palma tour, we had three trails on the program. The first section took us from El Pilar to Villa de Mazo.
The path started briefly through pine forests, but quickly the terrain changed and it became rocky. The trail had some key sections.
The final section took us to Villa de Mazo.
The second and third sections were a combination of the Beachdrive and the La Madre Trail. Downhill from El Pilar to Puerto Naos.
After the car park, the trail led us through a pine forest again. There was apparently a forest fire here recently. The black barks with the fresh shoots clearly show this.
Then followed a really fun descent which became rocky and extremely bumpy in the course. The rule here was no crash, the stones are extremely sharp-edged...
At the end of the trail, we went over a tar road to the start of the La Madre (riverbed) Trail.
We had never seen anything like this before. An ultra strong trail on extremely grippy lava rock. The terrain invited to play and we had a crazy fun. Something like this could happen more often. Insane...
We rode through banana plantations downhill to Puerto Naos. Here we deserved a break on the black sandy beach.
A great day came to an end. We rocked a total of 25 km of trails with 2500 meters of descent.
