1. June/63rd Day: Espalion - Le Barthas

Espalion in the morning

Today, the 9th week will be completed, unbelievable.

We leave Espalion early, it will be 30 degrees and another 30 km.

It's just a picture-perfect atmosphere on the Lot.

There will be a lot of cultural excursions again.

After a few kilometers, we arrive at the Romanesque church of Bessuéjouls from the 11th century.

Simply impressive, over 1000 years old.

But we don't have much time, Estaing is waiting for us. A medieval town that is considered one of the most beautiful towns in France.

We enter it over the bridge from 1520.

The name of the respected family was bought in 1922 by the family of President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing.

At noon, we sit together with Chris and Anja - and I am already a happy tent owner. They wanted to send theirs home by mail, but they knew about my search. So from today on, I have to carry an extra 1.7 kg. But only until next Thursday, then I will get rid of at least 2 kg of useless clothes and things, Arni will be my "home carrier".
