Transferring in Istanbul

In Istanbul, we had a few hours layover and could stroll through the huge transit area. A colorful mixture of people from all over the world welcomed us - it makes you wonder: Why can't the world function like it does at this airport? People from different countries coexisting in close proximity...

Our connecting flight was delayed by 25 minutes, so we had time to watch the people at the gate :) And we noticed: Quite a few Germans here, who want to go to Bishkek. Some, like us, have roots in Kyrgyzstan, but many others have no connection to the country. Among them, a larger group of bicycle tourists...

With a total delay of 45 minutes, we finally arrived in the capital of Kyrgyzstan at sunrise after a very pleasant flight with Turkish Airlines.

Our driver, who is also the owner of our accommodation Hotel Strelets, welcomed us very warmly and friendly - and was happy that we spoke Russian! And so we immediately had our first city tour, important information and even two SIM cards!

In the hotel, we even got a free upgrade to a large family room - feeling at home among compatriots 😁
