Arriving at Koh Phangan, we were welcomed by Lana and Joy and were led to our hostel, just a minute away from the port. On Koh Phangan, the five of us rented scooters and rode around the island. In the most beautiful bar I've ever been to, we had a free barbecue in the evening and danced to a relaxed DJ from Nuremberg.
The next day was incredibly exhausting as we hiked for 3 hours to the highest point of the island, climbing steeply all the way to reach the 600 meters of altitude. But once we reached the top, we had a 360-degree view of the island's green and mountainous landscape. After a short rest back at the hostel, we went to the Night Market for dinner, where a variety of exotic specialties were available.
The next day was a very relaxed day at the beach as we went to the most famous beach party in Thailand in the evening. The Full Moon Party has been held every month since 1980 in the full moon night at the southern end of the island and is one of the largest beach parties with 25-30,000 visitors. Although the music was very good, as expected, 99% of the people were drunk and some behaved very pushy and unpleasant. It's a party you won't forget easily, but it's also not necessarily one that needs to be visited again...
On the last day, we slept in until 11 am and then rode around the island again with the scooters. The girls went archery again, we went swimming and snorkeling, and then the last day in Thailand came to an end.
Starting tomorrow, it's time to say hello to Vietnam🇻🇳!
