South African Road Trip V - Natures Valley

已发表: 24.01.2018

After saying goodbye to Didi and Fairy Knowe, we continued on the Garden Route towards Natures Valley with heavy hearts. Along the way is Knysna. Somehow all South Africans rave about this place.

The only beautiful thing, however, is the view point.

The town itself feels more like a senior retirement center. So stop briefly, admire nature, and continue driving.

At the view point, Mom met Julia and Brian for the first time after Fairy Knowe. We chatted a little and then continued to Natures Valley.

Natures Valley is the exact opposite of Wilderness and Fairy Knowe. Peace and solitude. The landscape is different, but just as breathtaking.

In the evening, we went down to the town. A ghost town. Except for the only restaurant that was somewhat lively. There Julian and I met Julia and Brian again and we chatted so much that we were swept out of the restaurant in the end.

The next morning, there was a delicious breakfast on the farm, which was just around the corner from the accommodation. It consisted of fresh and self-produced products. And here I met Julia and Brian again.

The day was a bit rainy. So off to Plettenberg Bay. A place where nothing happens.

But there is an excellent fish-and-chips shop there, where we had a round of freshly fried calamari.

On the way back, the sky showed some mercy and closed the floodgates.

On to the beach of Natures Valley. Not for sunbathing, but to enjoy the wildness of nature.

In the evening, Julia and Brian asked if we wanted to join them for dinner in Plettenberg Bay. So we enjoyed ourselves in the only restaurant still open at 8 PM. It turned out to be a very funny and long evening.

And the journey continued the next morning. Next Stop: Stormsriver!

In this sense: Leaving Western Cape! Welcome to Eastern Cape!

Have Fun and Be Proud!

Your/e Jan/Mom
