Lake Tekapo & Campen am Lake Opuha

已发表: 11.01.2024

We drove away from foggy Mount Cook at our usual time. Adios, you beautiful big mountain.

On the way to Lake Tekapo we bought fresh salmon/sashimi at a salmon farm. Benny thought it was really tasty, I ok, it's not really my thing, it's so raw.

We were a little disappointed at Lake Tekapo, the lupins were all dried out and everything looked very brown. The lake was really beautiful blue, but very dreary on the outside. I'm glad I already have my good lupine shot, otherwise I would have been very sad. We were at the playground and had an iced coffee.

Then we went to the Freedom Camping Spot for the night: Lake Opuha, the closest to Tekapo and the best on our route to Christchurch tomorrow. Many people make another stop here before they fly home the next few days because they wanted to give away the remaining food but no one needs any more. At the Fairlie Bakehouse we gave the pies another chance, they were supposed to be the best - and they were - mmm delicious.

We opened our last bottle of wine at the lake and enjoyed the warm weather.
