Day 23 - 25.06.2017 - Postojnska Jama

已发表: 25.06.2017

Today our journey continued from Umag to Bled in Slovenia. When leaving Croatia, we naturally got stuck in the border control queue. At least this time they also checked our IDs ;-) Since it was on the way, we made a stop in Postojnska to visit the famous cave. There were many visitors in front of the cave (as we had suspected), sorted by the language of the guided tour. Our group guide immediately said that 700,000 to 1 million visitors come annually. Incredible. First, we took the cave train two kilometers through the cave. The ride itself was amazing - sometimes we passed very closely by the rocks and could already admire the overwhelming underworld of stalactites and stalagmites. After that, we walked about 1.5 km further and saw various halls, such as the spaghetti hall, where the spaghetti hung from the ceiling. Henriette's comment was 'We can't eat all of that'. After the tour, we went back with the cave train. But before that, we saw the 'human fish' that live in aquariums in the cave and are very timid...and they even had babies last year. All in all, the visit was definitely worth it to see one of the largest and most beautiful dripstone caves in the world. Afterwards, we were surprised by heavy thunderstorms and rain showers, and when we arrived in Bled, it was only 19 degrees. But tomorrow is supposed to be better again :-)
