Amazing how much stuff you accumulate over time.
Hi, I'm Laura, 27 years old. After four years of living on my own, I had to move back in with my parents to pursue my big dream of taking a sabbatical year. Although I was able to live quite comfortably and affordably in my grandma's former apartment for the past ten months, the decision was not easy for me. No matter how old you are, you always remain a child to your parents, and it felt like a small blow to my pride to move back to the small village where everyone knows each other. But it was worth it! Because as a result, I did it: ten months of working full time, only receiving half of my salary, and now the reward: I get to enjoy the next ten months without my usual job, but with the other half of my salary!! A fair deal :)
The past few days were all about packing everything into boxes (I had to move out of the apartment), handing over my workplace to my successor, hugging all my loved ones one more time, packing my backpack, and getting ready to go.
My plan? Always heading west :)
First stop: NEW YORK! (Frank Sinatra playing in my head)
After that, I'm going to Canada (first east, then west), then along the west coast of the USA. Through the Fiji Islands and then to New Zealand.
