Goodbye Germany, hello World

"Does everything fit in your backpack?"

"I am desperate"

"How am I supposed to limit myself to so few clothes for 6 months"

"I think my backpack weighs more than me"

"Oh and it's also bigger!"

"Remember to leave on time"

"We will meet at the baggage claim"

That is how our desperate messages sounded shortly before we departed into the big wide world.

Four young girls, with high school diplomas in their bags, are setting out to travel around the world!

We were all aware that this would be an organizational masterpiece, which is why we put all our enthusiasm into planning hostels, visas, insurance, etc.

Earn as much money as possible in a short time after high school in order to finance everything.

Well said, well done.

After nearly a year of planning, the day of departure was getting closer and the excitement was growing. Even though we didn't quite comprehend it... after all, the planning had more to do with dreams, ideas, and imaginings. Well now it seems almost real.

Well, we admit that we had difficulties with packing... but how are clothes for half a year, cold and warm weather, supposed to fit in a 70 liter backpack? Still a big mystery for us!

But the answer seems to be: reduce to the minimum! Not that easy but it eventually worked out and so we will meet at Frankfurt Airport on July 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

With our backpacks on our backs, we wait for the long-awaited flight.

Surrounded by our families and friends, last gifts are given and then it is time to say goodbye. The "Goodbye, see you in 6 months!" was harder than expected..

After all tears have dried, after being comforted by the security staff and making it through security, we're off!

From now on, the sadness is overcome, instead adrenaline and endorphins flow through our bodies! We're heading to Iceland!

The plane accelerates, takes off, and all that separates us from our adventure is a 4-hour flight.
