Mendocino, Mendocino, I drive to Mendocino every day. Apart from the fact that there is no San Fernando in sight, the area north of San Francisco looks quite different from how Jürgen Drews has depicted it. There are many hills with a ground cover of burned grass and green bushes and trees.
First of all, it's goodbye San Francisco. After a loud night at the Hotel Aldrich, we hit the road. Our car is waiting for us and we easily leave the city – on the road of roads, across the Golden Gate Bridge. Today in the fog and still beautiful.
The goal is the giant trees on the west coast. To warm up, we have a pair after just 37 kilometers on a nice hike. We continue on Highway 101 heading north.. Compared to San Francisco, the heat is murderous and we make our way to Benbow. Here, it's time for laundry and writing in the diary.
Good night.
