Tag 5 From Pontassieve nach Consume

From the route description it sounded quite clear: just over 17 km and 960 meters in altitude. But we did the calculations without taking into account the weather. Constant rain from the start. Nevertheless, a very nice, although sometimes very demanding, tour.

At the end in Consuma we received such a warm welcome: first we take a warm shower, then we come downstairs, drink some tea and then we check-in.

Later there will be dinner together with the other guests. I think the evening will be really great.

When we first greeted us, our hotel owner Luca asked if we wanted to have dinner with us, which we immediately agreed to. The meal was designed in such a way that Luca stood in the kitchen that evening and served his six guests a very tasty 4-course menu with regional specialties. There was also Chianti and lots of nice conversations.

Another rainy day awaits us tomorrow...
