Our flight from NRN Weeze to Edinburgh was scheduled to leave at 21:35. We took off at 22:15, so we arrived in EDI around 23:30 UK time. We then took the Airlink 100 to Haymarket and stayed at the Leonardo Hotel.

According to the airport scale, Jan has about 20kg on his back, and I have 18kg. That's quite a load. But somehow, the tent and sleeping bags turned out to be heavier than expected.

We woke up feeling relaxed after a cozy sleep and had an epic breakfast at Loudons Fountainbridge. Wild mushrooms on brioche with spinach and poached egg? Yes, please.

We arrived on vacation feeling super relaxed. We quickly bought some water and then traveled for £45 by train over Anniesland Glasgow to Milngavie (which is pronounced 'Malgai' here).

Here, we briefly dropped off our things at the Premier Inn and then walked back into the city to look for camping gas - otherwise cooking on the go would be a challenge! Luckily, we found what we needed at Spar and got the last bottle. Option B according to Reddit would have been the zoo store Creature Comforts, as they had a large WHW sign outside.

We spent the afternoon in the Jaw Brew brewery enjoying the sunshine and sipping excellent pale ale.

We had dinner at the pub next to our hotel, the Burnbrae. Generally not recommended. Nevertheless, we cozied up and went to bed early. Tomorrow morning we finally set off hiking; the first stage on the West Highland Way awaits!
