My dear green friends,
In almost every city, I love to visit the botanical gardens and wander a bit through the greenery and color, so I booked a free tour through the gardens at the hostel. Quite cool, as I was guided by a guide with Indigenous roots from the garden itself, who took me (and 3 other hostel guests) on a one-hour tour, allowing us to taste various herbs, berries, and fruits while explaining which grasses are good for what and which ones to sit on if I get lost, as snakes are not found in those grasses because they dislike the texture. Everything you need to know in an Australian garden.

Along with some tasty treats, we also saw a lizard and – how could it be different in Australia – a fat spider. Yuck!

After the very informative tour, there was a short snack, and then I ventured through the garden with another traveler.

During our tour, there was also a short but heavy shower, and since I was out without an umbrella, my path and the traveler's separated here, as I quietly waited under a small awning and read until the shower passed.

And as you surely know, sightseeing is sooooo tiring that I first need my obligatory ice cream to continue my day. This time it was vanilla and chocolate.

When I was in Sydney, it was not only Australia / Invader Day but also Lunar New Year - accordingly, there were dragon dances and events throughout the city. So I did some research and picked the coolest event. After the ice cream, I slowly headed to the Art Gallery in Sydney, where I not only visited the Art Gallery but also got to see a dragon dance up close, which even moved through the gallery. SOOOOOO COOL!

And after an eventful day and a perfect ending and start to the year of the snake, I returned to the hostel with a mega view and then off to bed.
The next day I met Darya in Manly.
More about that in the next post.
Your Britta
