Cape São Vincente Lighthouse

Dearest friends,

One last post before I head out for another week with Sophia. I have now arrived in Porto and checked into the accommodation and am now waiting for Sophia to contact me so that I can pick her up from the airport.

In any case, I would like to tell you about my last day in the south of Portugal. As planned, I spent this time by taking the bus from the campsite to Salema beach and lying on the beach for 2 hours and reading something.

On the bus I met two Austrian women who were currently on an Interrail tour and I talked to them and a Swiss woman who I had already met the day before. I talked to her for a long time and often and understood her very well. We agreed to meet up for dinner that evening and also lie down on the beach together.

After my 2 hours we went back to the campsite, where I turned on a washing machine and wrote a few blog posts. Since I was also doing some organization here, I realized that it was supposed to rain the next day and I thought about driving to the most south-western point of Europe that same evening and watching the sunset there. I asked the Swiss woman (her name is Petra) if she would like to accompany me and she was very happy about it. So we ordered our dinner, delicious wood-fired pizza from the campsite, to go and watched the sunset with pizza and talked a little about our lives and the world. It was nice not to eat alone and also to hear stories from her about her life.

It was a really beautiful evening even if it wasn't the most beautiful sunset I've experienced so far. The lighthouse was also on and we were able to observe the light for a bit.

The next morning I set off towards Porto after enjoying a nice breakfast in the car in the rain.

Breakfast in the car - because it's raining.

Then we went 5.5 hours through the interior of the country to the next campsite in Tomar.

Here I drank a white port wine at the bar and blogged a little.

It rained again today, so I slept in and lounged around in the car for a bit before driving the next 3 hours to Porto.

So we'll hear each other in a week +- a few days.

Until then, I love you and feel hugged.
Your Britta
