前往俄勒冈州波特兰：
法兰克福到华盛顿特区的航班9小时，移民检查繁忙，我差点错过了去波特兰的连接航班。还有5.5小时的飞行，真是横跨了整个大陆。
当特洛伊开着他时尚的1976年福特F250皮卡来接我时，我终于被释放了。
今天我们开始准备最后的物品。为我准备睡袋，煤气灶，……并完成装备和打包自行车。我们打算明天出发，前往爱达荷州博伊西，骑行将从那里开始进入落基山脉。

My German is bad. Just erased my note to you. Enjoy seeing how your trip is going. Good burgers and beer make a difference. Nice wide open country. Sounds like Troy has all the tools to move gear around. Wish I. Or join you for a few days. We go to Minnesota for 3 weeks next month. Have to get out of the heat and see family. Saw a deer today while hiking. 5 miles to ammo storage used in WWII.
