From Berlin to Chur

At 5:40am we meet at Berlin-Südkreuz, the train departs at 6:10am and is already 2 minutes delayed. In Frankfurt, we only have a 10-minute connection. Let's see how it goes until then.

We arrived in Frankfurt with a 6-minute delay. The connecting train is late and packed. It departs with a 14-minute delay, so we definitely catch the later connection in Basel and not the planned train. Now it's time for a break with everything Edeka and the kitchen at home had to offer.

After 15 minutes of travel, the train stops and the announcement is made that the delay is expected to increase to 25 to 30 minutes... Finally, we continue and arrive in Mannheim (the first stop after Frankfurt) with a 47-minute delay. So 25-30 minutes are already in the past. 😄

We finally reach Basel with a 57-minute delay. We decide to take the connecting train without changing and soon we are already on the ICE from Basel via Zurich to Chur. We are getting quite tired from getting up early and the long journey. It's almost 2 pm when we arrive in Basel, and we have been on our feet for 10 hours. The train leaves Basel right on time and we still have 2.5 hours to go until we reach our destination.

We arrive in Chur in drizzling rain and walk to the hotel. The hotel 'Drei Könige' is simple but clean. After 20 minutes, we are already out again and meet our former boss for dinner. How nice to see each other again after several years!

After a delicious Grisons meal (Capuns) and two bottles of wine, we're already in our pajamas at 9:10pm. The alarm is set for 6am...
