The journey from Lima to Juanjui was already a bit adventurous: First, I took a plane from Lima to Tarapoto. There, Iris from Choba Choba picked me up with a taxi. With open windows and deafening music, we raced for about 2.5 hours on bumpy roads to Juanjui.
Every now and then, the taxi driver had to brake abruptly because a 'speed bump' suddenly appeared or we couldn't overtake another car. The smell of burnt grass filled the air throughout the whole journey, as a field was probably burning somewhere. We passed many rice fields, which surprised me a lot because I didn't expect them to grow rice here.
We arrived in Juanjui around 5:00 PM and were greeted by many tuktuk drivers at the taxi station. In seconds, my luggage (and I myself) were transferred and we were already driving through the streets of Juanjui in one of those tuktuks (a motorbike with a small seat trailer). Thalia was already waiting for me at the Choba Choba office, mainly responsible for CC's accounting. She showed me my room for the night (above the office) and a little later, we were already on her scooter on our way to a snack bar.
When Thalia drops me back at the office in the evening, I am glad that I can now sleep for a few hours and recover from all the events 😉. But before I could do that, I needed a few minutes (and nerves) because I couldn't unlock the door... I almost gave up and mentally prepared myself to confess everything to Thalia (that would have been sooo embarrassing😅). But when I turned the key in the other direction, the door opened without any problem 😂... different countries, different door manufacturing 😉
