Today we start from Windhoek towards Etosha National Park. But today's destination is not yet the national park but a campsite about 400 km away from the national park. The campsite was located in a private game reserve
Since we decided to navigate by map and without a GPS, we also had some difficulties finding our way out of the city. But on the second attempt, we succeeded. The nature passing by the window was as picturesque as a painting.
The navigation system was even worse than our map reading skills. We had some problems finding our campsite, so we decided to use the GPS. However, the GPS led us to a closed gate and the ranger informed us that we had to drive 45 km back to take the correct entrance. So we had to drive another 45 km back.
Finally arriving at the campsite, open air took on a whole new meaning. The shower and the toilet were so open that you could easily observe the sky or the bush while doing your business. Open air, It must be noted that we are in a game reserve and there are no fences surrounding the campsite.
We had actually planned a game drive with a visit to the "Africat Organization" for the late afternoon, but due to poor communication, it was rescheduled for the next morning. So we decided to take a short self-game drive with our car.
and we bunked up in our rooftop tent for the first time.
