In the morning, we made our way to Darling Harbour to redeem our ticket for Madame Tussaud's and the Wildlife Zoo. To our great annoyance, we were informed on site that Madame Tussaud's is closed all day. This apparently happens more often when someone has booked the exhibition for private events. Unfortunately, we already had our ticket, without receiving any notice at the time of purchase that we couldn't use it on Friday.
So we went to the Wildlife Zoo instead, where there were many animals that we had already seen in the wild, but also some that were too shy to show themselves.
Here we finally got to see a platypus up close.
Of course, there were also cute koalas sitting on their eucalyptus-decorated tree stumps. At an information session with the animal keeper, we learned even more about the animals.
Afterwards, we strolled along the harbor, which was now presenting itself with bright sunshine and t-shirt weather.
We also visited the "Chinese Garden of Friendship", which was donated by a sister city of Sydney in China.
Matching that, we then went through Chinatown, although somehow ending up in Thaitown. There we discovered the Capitol Theatre, where we informed ourselves about the evening performances.
We opted for the remaining ticket offer and returned to the hotel room after a short break to buy cheap tickets at the box office.
We spent the waiting time until the performance in a bar during happy hour with live music.
Afterwards, we watched the musical "The Jersey Boys" at the Capitol Theatre.
