Across Germany, Day 1

Day 1, 16th December 2020

Distance traveled: 591 kilometers

We're on vacation, finally! Now we can start our big winter journey. To leave home on time, we wake up at 6:30 am and go shopping as soon as the supermarket opens. Once this is done, Annika still has an appointment to attend. In the meantime, I (David) load the camper with groceries and get it ready for the trip.

Around 11 am, it's time to say goodbye to family and our cat(s), and off we go with a full tank of diesel and good spirits.

The traffic is very bearable, and after an uneventful highway drive of about 6.5 hours, we arrive in Berchtesgadener Land.

The drive to the hiking parking lot on the country road is quite adventurous, as it is very narrow and also very steep uphill and downhill. But in the end, everything goes well, and we park our camper. We are both extremely tired and after having a dinner consisting only of bread, we go to bed. We only discover the beautiful scenery behind us the next morning.
