Different country, different culture

It has been some time since our last blog. From Tangier we took the fast ferry to Tarifa and are now in Spain. The culture shock was great, we first had to digest what we were missing here in Spain: no more muezzin, no more donkeys and camels, no holes in the road, no chaos on the road that we have learned to appreciate, no more people who always keep in touch were looking for us, even if they had nothing to sell. But suddenly everything is sparkling clean, the toilets on the campsite are like at home, huge department stores where you can buy everything again and restaurants that are open everywhere again.... everything is really too cleaned and tidy... and we seem with our dusty clothes somehow not fitting here yet...

After 2 months of almost cloudless blue skies, we have clouds again here in Spain and Jasmin has to put on the down jacket again at night in the tent.

We drove from Tarifa to Cadiz by the sea and only got used to the "new" culture for 4 days. We marveled at the typical Spanish houses and cathedrals. Then the journey continued on the road of the white cities. From Espera, Bornos, Villamartin, El Bosque, to Villaluenga del Rosaria and on to the large town of Rondo, perched on a rock. From there we also went on excursions, for example to a training camp for bullfighters, bulls and horses. We learned a lot during this 2-hour visit, especially about the clever and sophisticated bulls that are not trained because otherwise they see through the game of bullfighting and become life-threatening for the torero. They are no longer used for the show over the age of 6 because they are then already too intelligent and immediately see through the game (the goal is then no longer the colored material, but the thin, conceited torero).
