Victoria, Canada

Ipapashiwe: 09.11.2019

I started my sightseeing day in Victoria a bit later than the previous days... 5 female chatterboxes in one room (including me), time flies by ;) After a hearty breakfast, I started the day at the Victoria Public Market. Many farmers sell regional and fresh food here.

Then I visited the Government House of British Columbia and Market Square. Victoria has the oldest Chinatown in all of Canada and the second oldest in America. The houses looked old but not run-down, and the shops had a modern design.

My path then led me to Bastion Square, the Bay Centre shopping center, and finally to the Legislative Assembly.

Arriving at the waterfront, I visited Fisherman's Wharf. This small fishing village consists of super cute colorful houses with souvenir shops and food stands.

Ogden Point is a kind of pier that extends far into the water. It offers a unique view of the sea. Along Dallas Road, which is over 5km long and runs directly along the water, there are stairs down to the beach every now and then. I could have spent hours here, this view is captivating...

I also visited Beacon Hill Park on this day. Several ponds with ducks, a rose garden, water fountains, and the tallest freestanding totem pole measuring approximately 38 meters can be seen here. I ended my tour at Craigdarroch Castle.

When I returned to the hostel, it was only 5 1/2 hours later, during which I walked over 17 km. Until the girls came back from their day trips, I was able to rest a bit, and we ended the evening together in a pub.
