Today the sun was shining all day, but it was quite cool. The perfect weather for cycling. After breakfast, I set off by bike to the next harbor, Klaus and Paula of course went by boat.
The navigator said 38 km. I usually do that in a morning, so I only took one bottle of water with me. I overlooked two things: 1. because of Midsummer Day, almost everything was closed, and 2. it was as exhausting as I have rarely experienced 🙁. Instead of 38 km, it turned into 48 km, and there were plenty of mountains. They were often so high and steep that I had to push the bike. And even that was exhausting!
The beginning of the route was the most beautiful! I took a detour via Gustafsberg, where we couldn't go yesterday because of the rain. The path there leads over the so-called beach promenade, which was partially carved into the rocks. It is complemented by a suspension bridge. Really beautiful!
From there, I took an extremely steep road to find out at the top that the path was wrong. It was so steep that I had to push down as well.
After 28 km, I finally found a campsite where I could have a coffee. After that, the navigator led me on a path that was more of a hiking trail. Very beautiful, but hardly passable.
5 km before the destination, I took a break at a beautiful church, and then went to the harbor. I arrived completely exhausted. Klaus was already there. He couldn't sail much because the wind didn't fit.
Stenungsund is not particularly pretty, a huge shopping center at the harbor, but everything closed because of Midsummer.
Fortunately, a very good and nice restaurant (Captain's Table) was open, where we went for dinner in the evening. The food was great, the atmosphere too.
