After having my first coffee, if you can even call it that, at 7:30 am in the 'City', I waited for the next shop for a proper coffee. While waiting for the machine to heat up, I discovered a kettle. Satisfied with my purchase, I went back with coffee and the kettle. Great! The next mornings are saved.
I spontaneously drove to Vicuña. Did I mentioned that I like riding the bus here?
In any case, there was again the beautifully laid out Plaza and around it the birthplace of Gabriela Mistral. Why am I mentioning this? She was the first Latin American woman to receive a Nobel Prize in Literature in 1945!
And there is the Torre Bauer. In 1905, the German-born mayor Adolfo Bauer had this tower prefabricated out of love for his father's homeland in Ulm and then placed it in Vicuña. A bit quirky...
For dinner, I ordered a Pisco Sour. Since the grapes for the brandy are grown and distilled here, I had to and wanted to try the drink. Woah, that stuff hits hard. The guidebooks accordingly "warn" about it, and not without reason ;-)
I wasn't in the mood for booking any tours. So I'm keeping everything open for tomorrow.
