After the sun unexpectedly shone yesterday morning, we spontaneously decided to stay one more day at the campsite and not waste it by making the motorhome ready to drive, secure the Smart and drive to the next place.
It wasn't until around 2:00 pm that it clouded over, so we were able to sit in the sun and even have breakfast outside 😎
We then set off with the Smart and explored the area. We drove along the coast from Cancale to Saint-Malo.
The city is the most important port on the Breton north coast and one of the most visited tourist destinations in France due to its historic city center and fortifications.
Surrounded by an impressive, historic city wall, small stone houses line up row by row, forming small, winding alleys. The special flair is created by the typical French cafes and small shops.
There, Thomas ate mussels in a restaurant and I had pizza. Neither was really great. We probably should have eaten at the restaurant on the campsite, which is supposed to be very good, but we were hungry and were tempted by the gastronomy in Saint-Malo 🤔
We only drove through Cancale (slowly and with detours). Due to the mask requirement, we didn't feel like getting out (that's why there are no photos). A really cute town!
Overall, the weather was better yesterday than expected. T-shirt when the sun was out and the wind was calm or sweater/jacket when there were clouds and wind, and occasionally a little rain.
Today we moved on with the motorhome and are staying at a small **campsite in Plurien (where not much is going on and we have peace and quiet) 😀, with a view of the nature reserve and the bay beyond. Both can be explored on foot directly from the campsite.
The ideal starting point for exploring Cap d'Erqui and Cap Fréhel tomorrow, weather permitting.
Today the weather was extremely changeable and unpleasant. A bit cooler with occasional rain. It cleared up around 5:30 pm, so we were able to take a walk and sit in the sun for a while afterwards (it's too cool for us to sit outside without it) 😉
