Yesterday our day started with breakfast outside on the terrace in St. Lucia. Shortly before ten, we were picked up for our boat trip in a vehicle with the steering wheel on the left side:-) The boat tour was great. There were some hippos and even a baby hippo to see. Very cute. The guide explained a lot about the ecosystem and the animals and plants living in it. We now know that there are white and black mangroves. After the boat trip, we went back to the accommodation. Then we drove in our car towards Cape Vidal, which used to be full of plantations and now should have a very beautiful beach with vegetated dunes. Our path led us through a nature reserve, where we saw elephants and kudus. We also went up to an observation platform from where you could see Lake St. Lucia and the sea. Cape Vidal didn't fully convince us. The beach was nice, but the previous view of the sea at a rocky beach was significantly more beautiful. To conclude, we had another fish platter. Today we set off for Salt Rock, a seaside resort. On our way, we visited a Palm Monument. There were huge palms standing like a forest. Our accommodation looks very nice and the beach is within walking distance in about 10 minutes. Since we couldn't go directly to the accommodation, we had delicious pizza before. Mine was topped with parmesan, rocket, feta, zucchini, avocado, beetroot, pumpkin, pumpkin seeds, and sesame. Unusual but very tasty. Just now we took a quick walk to the beach and enjoyed the foot peeling.
