Short trip to Wallersheim in the Vulkaneifel

Ipapashiwe: 14.07.2024

Destination and Accommodation:

Wallersheim is a small, charming village in the picturesque Vulkaneifel in Rhineland-Palatinate. Our accommodation was a cozy farmhouse on the outskirts, surrounded by green meadows and forests.

Arrival and First Impression:

We arrived at the farmhouse in the early afternoon and were warmly welcomed by the hosts. The farm was idyllically located, with a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside. The rustic, yet comfortable furnishings of the farm exuded a cozy atmosphere.

Activities and Experiences:

On the first day, we explored the farm and met the animals. There were cows, sheep, chickens, and even a few friendly cats. The children had a great time feeding the animals and playing in the hay. The next day, we went on a hike through the Vulkaneifel. The region is known for its geological features, such as the maars, volcanic lakes, which we were eager to see. Our path took us through dense forests and over gentle hills, always accompanied by the fresh, clear air of the Eifel.

Culinary Experiences:

The farmhouse placed a strong emphasis on homemade products. For breakfast, we had fresh eggs, home-baked bread, and jams made from fruits from the garden. In the evening, we could enjoy regional specialties like Eifel game and potato dishes prepared by the hosts.

Departure and Conclusion:

After three relaxing days, we began our journey back home. The short trip to Wallersheim was a perfect blend of relaxation and nature experience. The warm hospitality at the farmhouse and the stunning landscape of the Vulkaneifel made this stay unforgettable. Especially the proximity to nature and the insights into farm life were enriching experiences for both adults and children.

Recommendation:

A stay in Wallersheim on a farmhouse is ideal for families and nature lovers looking to escape everyday life and discover the beauty of the Eifel.
