Last Day's Auckland

Ipapashiwe: 14.05.2018

In Waipu we visited the glowworm cave. First, we took a walk up to the lookout point and then we went into the cave.

Shoes off and through mud and water. After just a few meters, we could already see the glowworms glowing blue.

Countless ones were hanging from the ceiling.

Then we went back outside and drove to Cape Reinga to the lighthouse.

We also took a walk to the lighthouse.

It was raining buckets, but that didn't bother us. 😁

Afterwards, we went to the sand dunes, just a few kilometers from Cape Reinga.

We did some sandboarding there until it started raining again.

Then we drove to the campsite and had a cozy evening.

On Sunday, we strolled through our last stop, Auckland City.

We had a leisurely meal, walked through the streets, and packed our backpack.

My backpack now weighs 17 kg. 😬

On Sunday night, we dropped off our friend at the airport, cleaned our camper, and returned it to the rental company.

We walked 20 minutes to our hotel and rested a bit before our flight to Bali at 6 o'clock in the morning.

Goodbye New Zealand 🇳🇿
