Today was a pretty important day that I have been waiting for a long time. Because today I had the appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Bern. There I had my interview appointment in English to apply for the visa. We were guided through a security check like at the airport. Afterwards, we had to surrender all electronic devices and potentially dangerous objects. At the counters, I had to submit all the visa forms and answer a few simple questions about my stay. At the next counter, I had to submit the same documents again and leave my fingerprints. After that, I got the documents back and they explained the further procedure to me. I would get the passport back by mail after 5 working days.

4 days later, the passport with my visa arrived by mail. The letter was slightly damaged, but the passport was still intact except for a little dent. The joy was immense that this big step is now done.
