Neckar Valley

Thanks to the replacement accommodation, we will remember Alpirsbach fondly. We had a nice chat with the hosts and manage to start at 9 o'clock. The first 3 kilometers are steep uphill - but honestly, we're having a lot of fun after the last, rather flat stretches - at least we get to use the motor again. From Aistaig, it's mostly downhill again and in no time we're at the Neckar river. Here it is still narrow and gently babbling. Today is a great day of cycling, dream route, great signage, always up and down, shade and sun, Neckar on the right, Neckar on the left. Without even noticing it, we cover the 40 kilometers to Horb. Coffee break at the Neckar and off we go. On the next forest path we encounter a naked jogger. To each their own, at least no sweaty clothes to wash afterwards. That's good for the environment. Everyone should do their part.

In Rottenburg a.N. we have our spaghetti ice cream break today. Very delicious - Mario has the traditional spaghetti ice cream - Petra has carbonara today! When leaving Rottenburg, the thermometer of a shop shows 39 degrees, and for the next kilometers we ride in an open field with direct sun. We try to meditate and recall the feeling of that dreadful rainy day on our last year's tour, it works and we manage this section as well.

During our next break in Tübingen, we have a groundbreaking idea. We quickly send a text message to a very nice business partner of ours who lives nearby and arrange to meet him and his wife for dinner tonight. Vacation is also there to implement spontaneous ideas. We spend a wonderful evening with funny and interesting stories.

Tomorrow is our day of return. We will ride back to Althütte via Nürtingen, Plochingen, the Schurwald, the Remstal, and through the Wieslauftal.
